When building with slibtool (https://dev.midipix.org/cross/slibtool) instead of GNU libtool the libtool wrapper script will be installed instead of the correct binary. This is because of the following line.

The solutions would be to use
$(LIBTOOL) --mode=install
or since libtool is not actually needed it can just be removed avoiding the problem entirely.
