Hi!
Multiple people including myself have previously mentioned that it would be great if gltfpack kept the names of the meshes intact. As mentioned previously by the author, for various reasons it's not possible and as node names can be preserved, it is still possible to rename the meshes.
Here's an example how to do that using https://github.com/donmccurdy/glTF-Transform, perhaps useful for someone else as well!
