The documentation of area_profiles() suggests you can get rid of the Trend column, but doesn't tell you how. I had to figure out to do it myself by putting NA in the header_positions and header_labels fields.
Maybe those two fields could have a note that you can exclude the Trend column (and maybe any other column?) by setting its value to NA. Also, both of them still say the vector has to have length 7, but it's 8 now.
