Set the node's espreset: "esnext"

I have server-side code in a Nuxt 3 project that runs fine in node and does not require a build step. When I run a nuxt build, I was hoping to build the client-side code for production but it ends up going into the server code and limiting what I could otherwise do:

I looked around, I'm not sure how to avoid this build or how to change the preset to esnext (esnext allows for the top-level await). That brought me here. I don't see anything about the JavaScript es preset in the docs. I tried the "preset" here:

NITRO_PRESET=esnext nuxi build

That fails of course, this is different kind of preset. How can I update the original es preset?
