Hi. I am a newbie to Zotero. I am planning on using it with Obsidian, and I have been relying on the YouTube video by Bryan Jenks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Fjhad-Z61o). Everything was working until I exported the "Extracted Annoations" file to a markdown file. Based on Bryan Jenks video (at 16:40), I opened the md file in a text editor and copied the contents of the md file to a note within Obsidian. The links in the "Extracted Annoations" file worked within Zotero. They did not work when the links were copied over to the Obsidian note. The links do not have the chain symbol that shows in the video and other documentation. It appears to me that the Obsidian-to-Zotero linking feature is not functional in Linux. Correct? Is there a work-around? |

I am not the only one to have this problem. But ... somebody else has solved it. See https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/93941/zotero-link-not-working-in-debian-distro/p1 |

This solution worked in Ubuntu 20.04. It requires a simple modification of the file ~/.config/mimeapps.list. The details are in the link. After restarting Obsidian, the link to Zetero from Obsidian worked exactly as it should (so far).
