the binary doesn't run on Fedora 40, the log only has

[2024-09-27T17:41:55Z WARN  map_gui::options] Couldn't restore settings, so using defaults. data/player/settings.json
setup widgetry...
interface 'wl_surface' has no event 2

For now, try the web version. This is an error either in winit or glutin. Upgrading may help, but the API has changed so much that it won't be easy, and I don't have any time for maintenance right now
