API Documentation?

Forgive my ignorance as I am ENTIRELY new to anything code/ programming related.
Been a HUGE fan of the OG YTMD player and now this one. I am trying to create a dashboard to display the currently playing song info on my desktop PC on a Raspberry Pi via web browser.

I could just be doing everything wrong. I admit my lack of knowledge is extensive, but I cannot seem to connect to the websocket and glean that sweet sweet track info for the life of me.

If documentation is something that coming eventually then I sincerely apologize for pestering and I look forward to reading everything 10,000 times as I try to learn!
