Ability to run scripts to values obtained as Request Variables and format them.

Hello.

As the title says, I would like to get the value of the response into a variable and edit the script to use that value in subsequent requests.
I would like to have the above functionality. Or is there a similar function?

For example,
I want to throw a request to a Web API where I can get the URL I need, and then replace some of the returned URLs with the correct characters.
